Both the Signature Album and Signature Book are fantastic products, so there is no wrong answer! Product selection will be the biggest influence on total cost, so check out the descriptions below, review your budget, and let me know if you need additional help deciding!
SELECT SIZE
The 8x8 is a great size for engagements, portraits, family photos, or a wedding guest book, the 10x10 really hits a home run all around and is fantastic for any event, and the 12x12 is a statement piece typically reserved for weddings or similarly important moments.! “Companion” albums (8x8) are available at a discounted rate, see below.
DESIGN, DESIGN, DESIGN
YAY! The fun stuff. I’ll instruct you on how to select 100-200 of you favorite images and once you’re finished, I’ll get to work! I’ll send you a mock up through a stellar proofing program so you can see your album in real life, make changes, add comments, swap pictures, and eventually “approve” the design.
BOOKS VS. ALBUMS
THE INSIDE SCOOPMost people can’t tell the difference between the pages in a “book” and an “album,” but if you’re a photographer or a photo-lover, you will notice that the “album” is of a higher quality, is more durable, and has truer, richer tones. The “book” paper is more bendy (like paper) and spreads lay almost completely flat, whereas the the album paper is more rigid (as it’s printed on a board rather than paper) and it lays completely flat. The album covers are of a higher quality and are more durable (the leathers are softer, have more texture, have more personality, and are real leather vs. faux). As you’ll see below, there are more cover options for the album vs. the book.
But don’t overlook the “book” - they’re AMAZING and perfect for family photos, portraits, engagements, a guest book at your wedding, or a wedding album if you are prioritizing budget! If you love the cover options and are looking for a lower-cost option, these will BLOW YOUR DANG MIND!

INVESTMENT
These are definitely not your run-of-the-mill Shutterfly books - they are an investment that will LAST. The prices reflect the quality of the materials, the thick and sturdy pages, the cover options, and the design services. Most couples purchase the 10x10 or the 12x12 size for their wedding and around 30-40 spreads. Keep in mind, many other photographers say that “most couples choose about 20-25 spreads” because their albums are so much more expensive. That’s why I love the lab I partnered with! With me, you’re able to add more photos to your album for the same price as competitors. If you want the exact prices listed below, though, 25 spreads is totally doable and will still make for an incredible album!
